Trees and their mantles

Well as many of you know, I can't resist temptation.  What is a girl to do when some amazing Claritystamp sets are on offer at a great price?  This is the first card I've made with these tree stamps.  I absolutely love them.

I used an old gelli print I had lying around, and planted the trees inside the frame.  I created a simple landscape using the clouds mask and a hill mask (torn with the help of my blending mat, which makes it so easy, even for me!)  I then stamped "Birthday" from the Clarity Wordchains onto a die-cut tag which I inked in Stonewashed and Lettuce Adirondack to tie it in with the rest of the card, and attached it using some hemp cord.

I think this card will be ideal for my dad's birthday.  He can't get out and about anymore, but has always loved the countryside.  If you have time to leave a comment when you call by, I'd love to know what you think.  Till next time.  Xxx

  1. I love this Barbara & I'm sure your Dad will too.....I have lots of gelli plate efforts that were put to one side and it's surprising how some lend themselves to particular stamps & ideas. Yours is fab combination :-) x

    1. Glad to hear you like this Carole. I get a bit overwhelmed trying to build a scene on a huge expanse of white card, so using the gelli ptint really helped. Xxx

    1. Thanks for the compliments Lynne. I find scene building difficult, so I usually try and cheat by keeping the area small; that helps. Xxx
