A single rose...

I am beginning to find this blogging lark quite addictive.  I used the ClarityStamp rose and stencil from the New Design Club for this birthday card.

Here is the gelli print background once I had added some extra colour.  Not again!  Can you see my inky paw print?  Oh dear...  I really didn't want to start again, so I'll need to hide that later.

Next step was to stamp out the roses onto some old book pages and colour them in.

The plan was to include a little keepsake with this card, and I thought this rose would look great decoupaged as a fridge magnet.  I glued the old book pages to some Grungepaper for this.  Here are all the layers.

Here I have added a Claritystamp sentiment, and glued the roses into place.  I put a little magnet under the rose at the bottom right to hold the fridge magnet in its place.

I painted the decoupaged rose with crackle glaze and added a tiny bit of glitter to highlight it.

Remember my inky paw print?  As I didn't want to trim the white border around the gelli print, I added the bow and charm instead to hide it.  Although it wasn't part of my original plan, I don't think it looks too bad.  What do you think?  Until next time.  Xxx

  3. Never mind "not too bad". It is lovely, and the bow and charm perfectly placed, even if there wasn't' a paw print to hide. xx Maggie

    2. Hi Jackie. The gelli print was in buff titanium and sap green. Extra colour added with lettuce, meadow and cranberry adirondacks, slate to give shade and definition. Hope this helps. Xxx

I so love seeing the beautiful cards people make and so generously share. Happy day and weekend to you and everyone. I love Fridays!

  8. Congratulations on being one of our top five. I think your card is really lovely and what a great idea that was to add a fridge magnet. I couldn't see the fingerprint, this is partly why I love the Gelli Plate, its so forgiving. xx
